About the Future Pharmacist Student Organization
FPSO strives to help and support students who are interested in pharmacy. With this is mind, FPSO offers a wide variety of access to the pharmacy field. This includes guest speakers, field trips, leadership and volunteering opportunities, and other activities to educate students about pharmacy.
Any student enrolled as an undergraduate at Sacramento State and interested in the field of pharmacy may be a member or officer of FPSO. Members of the above named organization shall be accepted without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, disability, sex, sexual preference, age, creed, financial status, marital status, parental status, or veteran status. Furthermore, it is understood that members of the above organization will not, at any time, engage in hazing.
Our Mission
• To provide students with special interest to join a group where they can share their ideas and concerns.
• To facilitate students' understanding of pharmacy.
• To provide access to guest speakers in the field of pharmacy.
• To provide students with leadership and volunteering opportunities.
• To introduce prospective pharmacy students to a career in pharmacy.
• To provide students the opportunity to visit and tour different pharmacy school campuses.
• To assist in the process of admission to pharmacy school.
Membership
• All members and officers must pay dues each semester. To be considered an "active" member, each person must participate in at least one Fundraising event and attend five General Meetings during the semester.
• Dues are $20 for ALL members in the Fall semester and $15 for continuing members in the Spring semester. Dues for incoming new members in the Fall with be $30.
• This includes first priority on trips, access to member-exclusive events and resources, and other discounts. Non-members are still welcome to attend general meetings, but will not have active member benefits.
